Maj. Gen. Khanna is widely recognized as an authority in the fields of defence manufacturing, policy planning and defence & aerospace business strategy in India. He holds a degree in Electronics Engineering and has Masters degrees in Computer Technology, Financial Management, Defence Studies and Public Administration.
He is a leading expert in India for business development, joint ventures, transfer of technology, MRO, Life Cycle planning & Support of complex Military Systems.
During his last assignment in the Army as the Commander of the Base Workshop Group, he was responsible for overseeing all defence base workshops in India, which had an estimated combined annual turnover of ₹2,500 Crores and a workforce of 12,000 engineers & technicians. These factories specialized in MRO of complex military systems, including Armoured Fighting Vehicles, Artillery Guns, Air Defence Systems, Radars & Control Systems, Missile Systems, Aviation assets and Specialist Vehicles.
In his previous assignment, he was the project head for many prestigious projects like Light Tanks, Futuristic Infantry Combat Vehicles and Wheeled Armoured Fighting Vehicles.
